May 8, 1906 - Bill Miner - Canada’s first train robber - and two accomplices rob a CPR train near Kamloops, British Columbia. Caught by the Royal Northwest Mounted Police, Miner was sentenced to 25 years in the New Westminster Penitentiary, but escaped in August 1907.
